<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A mega quick post today as I am really cutting it fine to get this entry in. I have been up to my eyeballs with marking for the last three weeks that I haven't had time to do much crafting. Anyway I have forced myself to have a couple of days off to do something creative (or I'll go crazy). </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Anyway this month's post was inspired with a walk down by the river in Evesham and my nine year old started collecting the most beautiful leaves.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img alt="Photo" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/DMuXbnfPfzlf5JDRDWx4q3U02bfZJzaf4DVN_d1zpr0=w303-h170-p-no" /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">So I decided to made a plaque using Claritystamp Autumn Maple leaves. I used the gelli plate to make a background onto an MDF plaque.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img alt="Photo" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/UOPuij7yjtfnLtgf_g7Idk97rQVaC-vADSIvYCf8rEk=w292-h164-p-no" /><img alt="Photo" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/SSNU40dZZPqRrzlhtDyORjXgqL_XVllU6zyyGp7S-2s=w292-h164-p-no" /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I used a couple of Clarity stencils and some metallic acrylic paints in golds, copper and titanium buff. I then stamped the sentiment in the middle of the stenciled leaf. Wish I hadn't done it on a wonk, but hey ho, as Barbara Gray says, get over it and get on with it!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img alt="Photo" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/UQ6Zt6kt0wlwpneepopJNqAUNVwzP7Vl9hurAl5N0B0=w304-h170-p-no" /><img alt="Photo" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/LIkuMBX-Ni7m2FRn4q3_3EUk3gy9Jel0nzJV59IVJRY=w292-h164-p-no" /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I used some of the paper that I cleaned my brayer on stamped onto that. On some I used versamark and embossed with gold and white embossing powder. On others I used a variety of autumnal colours and sprinkled a bit on gold embossing powder. Finally I also stamped some plain leaves. I cut them all out ... whew that was a bit of a job since I was so short on time!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img height="225" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-i-qyd5V5gEE/VCsS96ZUY9I/AAAAAAAAK2k/xw56Yg_yMMQ/w983-h553-no/20140930_212556.jpg" width="400" /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img height="360" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-KvbGDtmLBVc/VCsZKfW_DFI/AAAAAAAAK3Q/IhvdOvzoPX4/w983-h553-no/20140930_215538.jpg" width="640" /></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I stuck the leaves round in piles and added a bow at the bottom and put some more ribbon to hang it with. The photography is not brilliant. My phone is running out of charge and so the flash isn't working (sigh..)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Anyway hope you like it. Not bad for a couple of hours work I guess.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Thanks for stopping by.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Goodness me, another month has passed by and it is time to submit my entry to Clarity Stamp's blog challenge which has a theme of 'Feminine'. August is a month of birthdays for me (7) and because it is also the summer holidays, I feel obliged to make everyone a bespoke handmade card. My entry to this month's challenge is the last birthday card of the month and it is for my lovely sister-in-law, Jan. I hope she doesn't see this before the 30th! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">As I was rushing a bit, I didn't record many step-by-step pictures so here are a few pictures of the finished product. I do hope you like it.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I used both the small <a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Clear-Stamps/Floral/13680-/Lesson-19-Leafy-Swirl-Clear-Stamp-Kit---As-Seen-On-TV">leafy swirl</a> stamp and stencil in this project (both from Claritystamps). </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img alt="Photo" height="200" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/ThemRhIE2NgDhP-d0OF1buT0gVIOVluiJGA4AEFizsM=w129-h229-p-no" width="112" /><img alt="Photo" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/6HwAw_0BhDqQKxp3j8LaqZyi0FkMLEfAgbcAiI1tFWA=w129-h229-p-no" width="112" /> \<img alt="Photo" height="200" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/SDpF2XLBle-1fdswkv1KN4Fqamnuuj_efAmQeAO5xZI=w129-h229-p-no" width="112" /><img alt="Photo" height="200" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/2EmM6pBVLF3GW8B1QpMZTLfxRBtfJ6anaO1dH-005bE=w129-h229-p-no" width="112" /><img alt="Photo" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/n24iCVU7omeWJ7Ubv6cLfHXzXyPrCD6GBGBIjq6C2es=w129-h229-p-no" width="112" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The pictures above show how I designed the dress and made a practice model. I made a model first of all to test the idea (guess whose a Design Technology teacher lol!). I then designed an SVG file in Silhouette studio software and cut out the shape on my silhouette. I then stamped the the skirt and top using Versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. I then inked it with distress inks. I made another dress exactly the same and then glued them both onto either side of another dress cut out with a scalloped base, with a piece of cotton sandwiched in between. This allows the card to spin within the aperture in the card front. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I used the gelli plate to make some prints using the <a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Clarity-Stencils/13454-/Leafy-Swirl-Stencil-7-x-7-Inch">Leafy Swirl stencil</a> and used them to make the backgrounds, the mirror frame and flower (which I cut out using my Silhouette). Finally I cut out a banner shape and stamped 'Happy Birthday' using Clarity's <a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Information/Search/15656-/Remountable-Line-Sentiments-Clear-Stamp-Set-1---As-Seen-On-TV-NOW-1099">re-mountable line sentiments</a> (I love these!).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Hope you like it and please leave a comment if you visit. If anyone would like a copy of my SVG for the dress, please let me know and I'll forward it to you.</span><br />

Anything goes<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Hi there, thanks for stopping by.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is my entry for this month's Clarity Blog challenge 'Anything goes'. I love Clarity's miniature stamps and this stencil is so versatile for framing images. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I first blended distress inks - I think I used barn door, worn lipstick and spiced marmalade and Adirondack butterscotch.</span><br />
<br />
<img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-2NFzAl6aAJY/U7ehb0cJ_eI/AAAAAAAAIT8/MPjsIxTurKo/w737-h553-no/20140705_075042.jpg" /><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I then cut a paper stencil of the stencil to use as a mask to protect the white areas. I used <a href="http://ww.claritystamp.co.uk/Information/Search/9310-/Remountable-Kitchen-Set-Clear-Stamp-As-Seen-On-TV">Claritystamps Kitchen Set</a> and stamped in the apexes using black archival ink.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-VBu6vxQx4H8/U7elI_OZUnI/AAAAAAAAIUc/ApA_OrTpWGA/w737-h553-no/20140705_080905.jpg" /><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-7l5dqiZF2rc/U7elvhgAQ9I/AAAAAAAAIUo/0M9HSVZ2BYA/w737-h553-no/20140705_081027.jpg" /><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I then used Sakura colouring pencils to add subtle colour and shading to each stamp.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ae4EaVKnqlg/U7etCdYG93I/AAAAAAAAIVI/b-bYXGcY50w/w737-h553-no/20140705_084011.jpg" /><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Next I carefully marked out where the digits for the clock were going to go in pencil. I was much easier than I anticipated because the clock was square. I stamped (again using good old black archival) using <a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Information/Artroom/General-Gallery/Words-Greetings-and-Sentiments/Lesson-13-Numbers-and-Symbols">Claritystamps classroom set numbers and symbols</a>. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-M6hKgoS-tS4/U7evvs7d-iI/AAAAAAAAItY/bCfIn-drFvM/w737-h553-no/20140705_085408.jpg" /><br />
<br />
<img height="300" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-6189bCWJjwE/U7ejx21x5oI/AAAAAAAAIUM/AzCjGMxUiL8/w737-h553-no/20140705_075053.jpg" width="400" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I then went round the edges with a black micron pen and drew a squiggly line and 'time to bake'. Still not perfected this technique but it came out sort of ok!</span><br />
<br />
<img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-5P_ePwfJ3LM/U7fWCbc4ECI/AAAAAAAAIWA/E_HlYCdY9nM/w737-h553-no/20140705_101813.jpg" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I sprayed the surface with a couple of coats of varnish and then glued it to a 6mm MDF base (which I painted with Peobo black gesso). I drilled an 8mm hole in the centre and applied some more varnish. Finally I added a clock mechanism and voila!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pGcUODzctCLmOWrJYBHCTAlY1mzNpUxG7AUqETifVlM=w559-h553-no" /><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img height="480" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-T9M2WfZUquY/U9d1TO5qaaI/AAAAAAAAIs4/D3SseitR6CU/w737-h553-no/20140729_111234.jpg" width="640" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Thank you for stopping and by and I please let me know what you think.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Hello lovely people,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Goodness me it's June already and time for another Clarity Challenge. This month I have had the privilege to be guest designer and the theme is all about the men in our lives ... well Father's Day is looming in 15 days time.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Soon as I found out what the theme was I delved straight into my Clarity stash and knew straight away that it would be a garden theme. I love Clarity's <a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Information/Search/9308-/Remountable-Garden-Set-Clear-Stamp-As-Seen-On-TV">Garden Set</a>. Each stamp is so beautifully intricate. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I also used Clarity Stamp's classroom <a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Clear-Stamps/Miscellaneous-and-Travel/13402-/Lesson-18-Birdhouse-Clear-Stamp-Kit---As-Seen-On-TV">birdhouse</a> set </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">and the new <a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/New-In/15656-/Remountable-Line-Sentiments-Clear-Stamp-Set-1---As-Seen-On-TV">line </a></span><a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/New-In/15656-/Remountable-Line-Sentiments-Clear-Stamp-Set-1---As-Seen-On-TV" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">sentiments</a><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">. The line sentiments are so useful. I love how you can shape them, they are very versatile.</span><img src="file:///C:/Users/User/Documents/Pam/photos/clarity%20challenge%20masculine%20card.jpg" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I cut the shed out of kraft card and coloured it in using promarkers. As you can see, the door closes. I brayered the background and used Clarity cloud mask - this is quite subtle as I am only just getting to grips with this technique.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhibHwPEgM8mYmWG6hsvMoG4HM_bnN1RfRLMU1VBfg04fRMTSC3R4ePYhgWMiDCPywCzb5LgOWs6HWSiH9teAvQhLV60QodKtrRtGBs_uLCLKxpheT1YchjUZ_epxVR_hg9YAefqaRZkFNQ/w770-h576-no/garden+4_wm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhibHwPEgM8mYmWG6hsvMoG4HM_bnN1RfRLMU1VBfg04fRMTSC3R4ePYhgWMiDCPywCzb5LgOWs6HWSiH9teAvQhLV60QodKtrRtGBs_uLCLKxpheT1YchjUZ_epxVR_hg9YAefqaRZkFNQ/w770-h576-no/garden+4_wm.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I used white embossing powder on the fence. I should have made a mask but it was easier and quicker to just emboss over the shrub plants. Finally coloured everything else in using promarkers. I cut some of these shapes out using my Brother Scan'n'cut ... a very clever gadget for busy crafters like us. :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Well that's all for now. If you have time please leave a comment, I'd love to know what you think. </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Thank you for visiting and good luck everyone entering this months challenge.</span></div>

Clarity Stamp Challenge May 2014<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Here is my entry for this month's challenge which is all about using word stamps. </span><br />

<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I love these words and use this stamp often. The sunset was inspired by a recent holiday in North Wales. </span></div>

Wednesday 257<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Hello fellow crafty people, </span><div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Sorry I am posting this so late (late night at school moderating GCSE and A Level coursework .. fun, fun! Then I had a worksheet to sort out for tomorrow ... sigh). Anyway, finally made it up to my craft cave and this is what my desk is looking like this week.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<img height="480" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Vw4i4D_KkNA/U2qZmVfc-PI/AAAAAAAAHjY/0qDCYUhrToE/w749-h562-no/20140507_213647.jpg" width="640" /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">As you can see, I am in mug mode this week. I'm in the middle of making a mugs for various occasions using vinyl cut by my trusty silhouette. My friend is leaving work at half-term and she rather likes to eat cake. Another friend has a baby due in a couple of weeks so I am making her a mug to go in a little baby preparation kit I'm putting together. The middle mug I painted at craft club last Friday. I loved doing this and definitely intend to do more. </span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Well that's all. I'd better be going to bed after a quick nose at other people's desk. Please leave a comment if you drop by. Have a fabulous week.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Just a short one to attach this month's <a href="http://claritystampchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/challenge-14.html">Clarity Challenge</a>, the theme being Monochrome.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It is rather rushed I'm afraid as I am away tomorrow, but I was determined to get an entry in as I missed it last month.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRA4IJ7bfC-uSh6DnxXM1c0t10Xt5MiTejbt4yLgrq7Qscm6nImzyRofj9j-q1GuV2IH-WYesjp-WAn4DBOT65jHHxcrMlAnQDlB3nsnu28aAXPOPgsXU-dcXrGmE9EH2gqlbaja6_rNT2/w422-h562-no/20140418_131119.jpg" width="300" /><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I decided to go traditional black and white using Clarity Stamps wall flower set. I embossed the large corner stamp in black on the black card. Not sure that works brilliantly on the photograph, it looks better in real life! I had a go at some zentangle on a couple of flowers. It was my first attempt and I'm not sure they were the best flowers to attempt it on. The Thank you stamp is a Clarity New Design Club and it has proved very useful. The leaf bits on the end are from Clarity Birdcage set. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Anyway, I hope you like it and thank you for stopping by.</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Evening fellow crafty people,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">What a gorgeous day it has been, far too nice to be indoors. We've been enjoying the sun in local park today, but I have been up to my crafty lair for a bit this evening.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">So what's on my desk this week? Lets have a look.</span><br />
<br />
<img height="300" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-hoplWgL5EYA/U01SlBKi0II/AAAAAAAAGQ4/eVNAlh95tWo/w749-h562-no/20140415_163817.jpg" width="400" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Crikey it is messy. Well this week I've been making a birthday present for my husband. I've made gelli plate mono prints using Clarity Stencil seed head designs. You can see one of my attempts in the right hand corner. I was cutting out frame for them which you can see on the desk in the middle. There is also a little peak of the card I'm making for my husband (see finished result below).</span><br />
<br />
<img height="300" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-JIAYhTDyvzM/U01TCfBv7hI/AAAAAAAAGRU/QhjVeVYEiyU/w749-h562-no/20140415_163851.jpg" width="400" /> <br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">New toy alert .. my Brother scanNcut! I was trying to cut my frames out on it but not very sucessfully. I got the the sizes completely wrong</span><br />
<br />
<img height="300" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-j9BdQON5yjs/U01S3jHDNXI/AAAAAAAAGRI/RPSbXygDPlQ/w749-h562-no/20140415_163828.jpg" width="400" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">So I had to resort to my trusty Silhouette. You can see above a birthday card I've made for friend using a Clarity stencil and grunge paste (it was one of Barbara Gray's blog tutorials).</span><br />
<br />
<img height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwf_NGlUyd2AyZkgD4BIxSpWdYQOA1ji3LerS8QbHJ3lEdTer_D81e3HpECCNbQWHvQwaliuR5HC_dIbymbE6U1ZQbGpDH_JSnZDMEtVd2_nQnjH9WwgFehA6fFPIw4esKdmM0DhPS6FfE/w422-h562-no/20140415_171851.jpg" width="240" /><img height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4AriLbQ0Wwo5OtGNhSI6c8ic4D-iUU_agGOgaijLO_T9m6f1WcSi58xxH6_vYncasKIBtyfFJBlXcKPQgiu-NaS3LIr1FlKCxgObqfziWVDC8DRjIbfBijZPbxp7StUtQI2tJxuMm-LT0/w749-h562-no/20140415_171917.jpg" width="320" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is my husband's birthday card. I used a Sheena Douglass stamp which I painted using H20s on kraft card. The porthole and sentiment are from the Silhouette store. I have since added a 'we' to the love you bit if you think the sentiment doesn't read right! I lost the 'I' somewhere along the line. Probably stuck to the bottom of my shoe. Below is the finished birthday present. It was an idea I got from the Silhouette blog; I've put my husband's favourite Beatles song lyrics in vinyl onto the prints. I hope he likes it. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">One last thing I'd like to share. Last week at school it was mad as all my students rushed to complete their GCSE and A level coursework. It was an exhausting week but look what I found on my school work desk on Friday. Aren't they lovely and it makes all worthwhile.</span><br />
<br />
<img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB1a-zRL8cE7RRFO_y7ylt3b5E13z-gp-WX-hdCFEgrP0RgWXo4M6CNo6brwkdLnQiCFN_5AEev_cZATwZGMghwRvrLMxuBMJb0b5Y-cL45a_Zr7NQiRrPeFq2VNi-7N25XQ-VcT_JMLq4/w422-h562-no/20140411_173157.jpg" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Have a great week and please leave a comment if you pop by.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Love Ela xx</span><br />

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Evening all fellow crafters, a short one tonight because it is late and I need my bed!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Another week has flown by although, workwise surely it should be Friday already! I haven't done much crafting this week due to deadlines for coursework at school. Doesn't matter how long you give the students or how much notice you give them regarding deadlines, they all leave it to the very last minute .... arrggh ... very stressful. Anyway had a good go at marking it at the weekend and set them lots of things to finish before we break up next week. Fingers crossed it will be all done by then and they all get fantastic grades!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Anyway, this my desk this evening. Bit of a mess again I'm afraid. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There is a card I've been working on at the front. Nearly finished but I keep getting interrupted. I'm trying to make it as an easel card. You can see my first easel .... it's huge so I need to scale that down. I'm embarrassed that there is still a jar of dirty water in the background. I keep forgetting to take it downstairs with me to clean out. One of my box cards is still lurking at the back. I must post it to my friend who had her baby in January. I am terribly disorganised sometimes!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Hello fellow crafty people, another Wednesday and another WOYWW ... where does the time go. I've missed the past couple of Wednesdays due to parent's evenings at school, but I was determined to have another go this week.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">So today I've been playing on my silhouette portrait machine. I love this device so much and since they have got a half price sale on files at the moment, I've been stocking up on some extra images. </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">My desk is relatively tidy but you should see the floor with all the bits of paper and other debris. I really must hoover up here at the weekend!</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Good evening fellow crafters, I've decided to plunge into the world of WOYWW having been fascinated by other people's desks for sometime! On my desk this Wednesday evening is mostly the results of my recent (i.e. Sunday and Monday night first-time play with my gelli-plate and various stencils.)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwidA3F_ApVn6Kq3rs-8NsvZJ-uaeEbHAWgP4UAFZJsROg7fqKk1fwFWGxUxDVzJKGg1mDwYiWAsNHs4dsPcypDtAAmGwPwtBn7xII43a_saQGQ-mWhpREgL3WHdrzXl6yUeP0K4rrQnBr/w749-h562-no/20140305_215842.jpg" width="400" /><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Bags of paints and my trusty silhouette. You can also see some of my paper prints I used as rough paper which are quite nice too and might keep in as part of my stash. You can't see my most important crafty companion .. my radio. It fell off my desk because there is too much on it and it is now residing underneath. Still works and I have Jo Whiley keeping me company this evening.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now I have been putting off this experimentation since last summer, but it was no good, I had to give it a go. And what did I think you may ask? .. I LOVED IT! </span><br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="300" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-mbVKtIpCE3M/UxeKkICWeGI/AAAAAAAAF_A/e6irlMgnuGo/w749-h562-no/20140305_203329.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="400" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Gelli-plate-tastic!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is just a small sample. I currently don't have many stencils but I did improvise a bit, and made a couple of stencils myself out of card, using my Silhouette.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I love this one in particular. You can't really see from the photo, but I used pebeo iridescent paint so it is all shimmery. </span></div>

<br />
Hello fellow crafty people, I hope you are having a good week.<br />
<br />
Thought I would share with you a couple of tags I've been working on. I've used a 3mm MDF shape I drew and lasered out, and did another of my tissue paper collage thingies. I've always painted my MDF shapes but I am loving this technique and producing these backgrounds. On this one I've used <a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/">Claritystamp'</a>s lesson 19 classroom set - I think it was called Leafy Swirl and a Claritystamp verse which I embossed in black powder - another thing I'm really into!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8j0JPHkft1c/Uw-lze1F2mI/AAAAAAAAF5Y/4ofT0vERTgw/w749-h562-no/20140227_205242.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8j0JPHkft1c/Uw-lze1F2mI/AAAAAAAAF5Y/4ofT0vERTgw/w749-h562-no/20140227_205242.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I've used Claritystamp bird cage & flourishes set here. I love this stamp set and I really should use it more.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Z5N2m3PKES8/Uw-mLHAgv4I/AAAAAAAAF5k/ILkFTJ9_ja4/w749-h562-no/20140227_205301.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Z5N2m3PKES8/Uw-mLHAgv4I/AAAAAAAAF5k/ILkFTJ9_ja4/w749-h562-no/20140227_205301.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Next I need to make the cards to attach these too. I'm going to break out my gelli plate which has been languishing a dark corner of the craft cave six months, but this weekend I am going to dust it off and finally have a go! I shall report back with my efforts ... if they are any good of course.<br />
<br />
Happy crafting! x<br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Hello there crafty folk, </span><div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">What is this you may ask ... actually completing two blogs consecutively? Well it has been half-term this week so I have had a wee bit more time on my hands than usual. This week I have got out my trusty sewing machine and I have made another bear for a friend who recently had a baby (I'm a bit late as it was over a month ago but I'm sure she won't mind as she is fellow teacher too!). </span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Meet Blue Bear for baby Ely. I used one of Mandy Shaw's super patterns from her <a href="http://www.dandeliondesigns.co.uk/acatalog/Books.html">Quilt Yourself Gorgeous book</a>. Her instructions are a bit quirky (as she puts it herself) but once you get your head around it they are simple to follow.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I use a blue fleece and various shades of blue felt that I had in my sewing stash. I embroidered the eyes rather than her suggested buttons as I thought they would be safer for a baby and I am a bit of button phob (I know ridiculous but true!).</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">On the last one I made, I embroidered the leg with baby's name but on blue bear, I embroidered a tag (I always was a huge fan of Paddington Bear), which I attached to a blue ribbon. I've sewn it in place so it is nice and secure. Well that's all for today. I do hope you like my bears,Happy Crafting! x</span></div>

<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<img alt="Photo" height="238" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/7Xbma1snSKb_iLnGZJDzHDdcpIxUMWWR-3f-AId4kdA=w266-h199-p-no" width="320" /></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I decided that this month I would finally enter the <a href="http://claritystampchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/challenge-12.html">Clarity Stamp Challenge</a> and here is my entry. The theme was Love and Romance and as my Clarity stash is quite limited still it was quite a challenge to come up with something!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I used an MDF heart I made on the laser cutter (I'm lucky enough to access one at school). I then decoupaged it with white tissue paper and watered down PVA. I overlayed this with pale pink and pink lace design tissue papers, with more white over some areas to tone the pink down. When doing this, you have to be careful not to get too much PVA onto the surface otherwise it will repel the ink. I used a paint brush end to poke through the hole while it was still wet. I dried this all off with a heat gun (mainly because I'm too impatient to wait for it dry naturally!). I then blended some distress inks over the surface - I think I used warm lipstick and spiced marmalade, and butterscotch adirondack. When the tissue paper was completely dry, I sanded off all the edges around the heart.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-HPQ2p9SSJ58/UwfJQzIbILI/AAAAAAAAFpU/M5j_qdg6HuY/w422-h562-no/20140221_214508.jpg" /><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Next, I used October's Clarity New Design Club Rose stamp (No 84). Stamped it over the surface of the heart using versamark and embossed it in white. (Remember to liberally apply talc over the surface first to remove any moisture that the embossing powder might cling to!).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now for the tricky part. Now from my experience, I am hopeless at stamping sentiments or verses accurately. They usually look if like I've been at the cooking sherry so when doing this one I had a moment of inspiration ... why not stamp onto white tissue paper and then carefully decoupage onto surface?! It doesn't matter if it goes tragically wrong because I can just bin it. I stamped the verse in versamark and then embossed it black embossing powder. So far so good! I then carefully tore round the edges so it looked nice and lay it down where I wanted it to go. Then I carefully applied some watered down PVA to the surface. Be really careful here not to press down too hard as it can wrinkle and tear. I lost a bit of the 'r' in forever, but hey ho the rest of it was pretty good and because the white becomes translucent, you can hardly see the paper at all.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lChSs9BQmBE/UwfJp2OJR0I/AAAAAAAAFpw/h0HmccUdTZg/w422-h562-no/20140221_214618.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lChSs9BQmBE/UwfJp2OJR0I/AAAAAAAAFpw/h0HmccUdTZg/w422-h562-no/20140221_214618.jpg" width="240" /></a><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now I am waffling on here, so I'd better get a move on. I stamped two each of the large and small<a href="http://www.claritystamp.co.uk/Clear-Stamps/Floral/4867-/Large-Gerbera-Clear-Stamp---As-Seen-On-TV"> Clarity Stamp Gerbera flowers</a> onto Clarity theuva card using black archival and embossed them using black embossing powder. I chose the gerbera flowers and coloured them in oranges because that is what I had in wedding bouquet ... see romantic! I inked the flowers using cut and dry foam in butterscotch and spiced marmalade. I then used promarkers in reds, yellows and oranges to get the different tones. I cut the outer petals off the two extra ones and glued them on top of the other ones using silicon glue. I then glued them to the heart.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Wko7P3X11vg/UwfK0LhcV5I/AAAAAAAAFog/K8aUBwxudws/w749-h562-no/20140221_214754.jpg" /><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A little bit of peach ribbon to hang it up with and it is finished. Hope you like it. It's a bit late to give to my husband for valentine's day but I'm sure he will love it anyway!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Have a great crafting week.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Ela x</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img alt="Displaying 20140209_202644.jpg" height="300" src="https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=d140c43e4d&view=fimg&th=1441860e81918872&attid=0.4&disp=inline&safe=1&attbid=ANGjdJ-wpt0svvAoagLI_OOQa5Iim-w8JvhYOZzu_WfLfHaL2-wjj9NBjzdY2RG_P6MnUN_H4bT06Q6J9AxIA0tE1RqSVKCjGmNe81IwYIjEcxLQ2CXMiVjWNdMCtf4&ats=1391978410947&rm=1441860e81918872&zw&sz=w1254-h496" width="400" /></span><div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I used brown kraft card (available from <a href="http://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/">Crafter's Companion</a>) which I sprayed liberally with a mixture of glycerin (available from your chemist) and water until I was able scrunch the card up. I did this a couple of times, each time massaging the glycerin mixture into the paper fibres. I then embossed the card using my Grand Caliber and a Sheena Douglass embossing folder. I can't remember what their particular names are but you can get them from Crafter's Companion too. I love her embossing folders and I have been having a good experiment this week on all the different things you can create with them.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Anyway I digress. Wait for the card to dry. I hung them over a rack in craft room overnight (it's pretty cold up here so it would probably dry quicker if I bought them downstairs!). Now the fun bit. Using distress inks and a blending tool, I distressed the card. On the brown one, I used Ranger's vintage photo and adirondack's expresso. The green one, I used adirondack pesto and lettuce (I'm note sure if this had any effect though as I started with pesto first) and finished off with a bit of vintage photo. You can use any colour you want. I am going to experiment with reds and blacks next.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Now how to get that shiny leather look and to give your notebook a bit of durability. Spray some Crafter's Companion Spray and Shine. Once you've sprayed it, rub it in a bit because you don't want it to be glossy shiny.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Ok, now you are ready to line your book with fabric. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Choose a fabric that has a fairly small print. Cut your fabric so it is oversized. Sheena suggested using a tacky glue. I used Pinflair book binding glue which I applied in stages and used a credit card to smooth out any creases or air bubbles. Then use a guillotine to trim. As I haven't got one (my next crafty purchase I think?!), I used scissors but it wasn't ideal. Another investment would be a corner cutter. Mine are not very accurate but I was very excited to get on. I should have marked them out first but went at it a bit gun ho!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">On how to do the paper inserts, I suggest you have look at Sheena's YouTube tutorial. She will explain it far better than me. Here is a link - <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy56jzo9SqE">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy56jzo9SqE</a>. You definitely need a guillotine here too. My rotary cutter is OK for single sheets but anything more, it just can't cope. I think the paper I used was a little too heavy. Sheena suggests cartridge paper. If you are making a special notebook, you could look for some really nice, even handmade papers.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The only thing I did differently was glue a piece of ribbon down the centre (about halfway down the spine) and then sewed the signatures through that as well. When I get chance I shall get some metal charms and attach them to the bottom of the piece of ribbon. Next I'm going to try something a bit bigger. Sheena made a cover for her tablet. I'm thinking of using it to cover one of my jewellery boxes. I am definitely going to make more notebooks though. I think they will make cool gifts for people. Well done Sheena for another fab idea!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Well better finish here. Need to tidy up a bit - it's like a bomb has hit! Have a good crafty week.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Well, as I suspected, I was completely rubbish at keeping up my blog. Christmas has been and gone in a frenzy of designing, making and crafting and now in this post-festive season period, when things are a bit calmer, there is more time to reflect. Saying that we are now in mid-Jan and I am wondering where the last three weeks have gone since I've been back at school. Anyway, school work aside (all ways far too much to do), my to-do list has somewhat diminished and my crafting and making has become an enjoyable optional thing once again.</span> <br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">So what kept me so busy in the weeks prior to Xmas. Well one in particular was a sewing box designed for my lovely sister-in-law. Commissioned in October, with a strict specification, I of course left it 'till the beginning of December to even look at my plans. Anyway, after a few late evenings in the school workshop, it was finally completed, the day before we broke up and headed off on our annual grand tour of the UK visiting the relatives.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Made from MDF, it has two drawers and shelf on the top. Plenty of room for all those sewing bits and bobs.</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My sister-in-law, in particular wanted storage for all her ribbons, so I made so little ribbon people on the laser cutter. Cute eh. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I gave a the MDF a light finish of a cream emulsion paint. MDF being very porous of course, it soaked the paint in but I quite like that as I was going for a distressed look. I lasered the designs onto the front using images from <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/">Polkadoodles</a><u> </u>Picknix 'All Sewn Up' CD and designed some myself using Corel Draw.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Despite the stress and one or two hiccups; the bottom drawer was too big (rubbish measuring on my part but remedied by my wonderful technician at school ... phew) and the fact that I didn't leave myself anywhere near enough time to complete it, but my sister-in-law was delighted with her gift and that made it all worth while. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And me ... well my New Year's resolution this year is to start making gifts NOW!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hello there, today I thought I would show you something I made recently as I haven't finished yesterday's project yet!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I'm not a huge card maker, and I tend to make them as when they are needed for people.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For this one I first painted the flower using Sheena's paint fusions 'rose bloom' set and acrylic paint. I cut this out and used foam pads to stick it to the base card. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The card is made from a pearlescent card which I over stamped using Sheena's 'aging beautifully' stamp set. The tag is made from chipboard which I distressed and attached to the card using baker's twine. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hope you like it. It was my first go at painting in a 'folk art' style, although I've done lots of acrylic painting before. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02379907230747638425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1555853953208692186.post-55943150598805478652013-11-16T09:22:00.003+00:002014-02-24T19:54:55.762+00:00Oriental inspired money box<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I first made a the MDF money box and then painted it with black gesso. Then I embossed some black matte card and rubbed over some gold gilding wax to highlight the raised parts. I used Sheena's 'little bit of oriental' embossing folders (lanterns and birds/cherry blossom). I then cut out to size to fit the sides that have the apex for the roof. This was a little tricky as I should have done this before I glued the roof on, but hey ho, it is all part of the learning process. I must remember to draw round each part in card and then I can use these as templates for the future.</span><br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglA3BVLtD8KhKeGBbPasbY-78WxYP5P61R2yH_3DB3sOBuf1W0i4zdFPDImP6SwSuMV97ALIK574M4jgk7d5YZtQ_cgE5hpVSsA58HXJiW6NBoYCiBT_PkjsuPSLaMeXHgFDJ4MvuKbVQq/s1600/20131028_093509.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglA3BVLtD8KhKeGBbPasbY-78WxYP5P61R2yH_3DB3sOBuf1W0i4zdFPDImP6SwSuMV97ALIK574M4jgk7d5YZtQ_cgE5hpVSsA58HXJiW6NBoYCiBT_PkjsuPSLaMeXHgFDJ4MvuKbVQq/s320/20131028_093509.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">On the other sides, I stamped, using Sheena's 'little bit of oriental' birds on branch and lantern stamps, and used fine detail gold embossing powder. Again this would have been easier to do without the lid glued on!</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I also stamped some of the lantern stamps separately. I coloured them in using a selection of pro-markers and then used some glossy accents to glaze them. I glued these on the embossed lantern side to give it a sense of perspective.</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Finally I used my brilliant Cameo Silhouette to cut out the roof tiles and glued them onto the roof. Then I rubbed a bit more gilding wax over, just to highlight the edges.</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Just need to buy some stoppers for the base and it is all complete. I've done a couple of other money boxes too, but I'll save my 'show and tell' for another day!</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Hope you have enjoyed seeing my creation. I'll try and post something more tomorrow .... school work pending! Enjoy your weekend and happy crafting.</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Ela</span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
